The color of the heartwood is dependent on age and location, grey brown to dark brown, often wavy, striped and cloudy, matt-finished. Growth layers and annual rings are differently pronounced. Fibres and deviations of fibres are frequently. The wood is medium-heavy, fairly hard and bends well. Very decorative and shrinkage is moderate. |
