The wood is reddish-white, later it turns darker to brownish and essentially is similar to the pear. Annual rings and growth layers are very visible. The wood is beautiful flamy, fine- but short fibrous, heavy, medium-hard and shrinks racily. In increasing age it offers an intensified red heart formation. |
