| Characteristics: | The sapwood and the heartwood are strongly different. The sapwood is nearly white and useless. The heartwood is grey brown to light brown yellow, matt-finished, with dark brown, tangential continued stripes. Therefore it is very decorative. The structure is rough and often cross-grain. The wood has a peculiar fetidness in freshly cut. |
