The sapwood and the heartwood are hardly different. The sapwood is light colored, creamy white, while the heartwood is light-reddish to reddish brown. It has a nice shine and often a very decorative figuring. Rays are numerous, little and unclear. The structure is short and straight grained; the texture is very fine, compact and constant. |
