Suggestions on to make square textures?

Just got a bundle pack, and plan on using them in our Cryengine2 based project. I am really happy with the quality and obvious care put into these!!! The Cryengine likes the textures to be square, and although many of your textures are square, some of the ones i like are not.

I can think of several ways to do it, maybe can you suggest the best way to edit and get square textures from rectangle.

1.rescale maps - this might work if texture is close to square, but will likely cause some loss of quality

2.Cut maps to make them square - this could work from a big size original (should be fine once the dvds come) but could be alot of work if the cut breaks the tiling.

3.Make a new image square from the largest dimension of the texture ..copy/paste layers of the maps to make a square from the collated layers. This can work as well but when we get into bump, spec and diffuse can be difficult getting them all lined up.

I'm going to start with the square textures for now, plenty of them to play with!! If you have any tips how to 'squarify' a rectangular shape I would be happy Smile

thanks and regards,
