Yes, the diffuse map belongs in the color channel. As far as I know, there is unfortunately no direct way in C4D to use the specularity map as originally intended since the strength/size of the specular highlight is not directly controllable by a map.
I have no experiences with C4D myself. Maybe some other visitor here could point out a work-around?

  • Mark language-dependent sections with == lc == where lc (or lc-xx) is a valid language code. Use qq for all languages.
  • Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.
  • Allowed HTML tags: <a> <em> <strong> <cite> <code> <ul> <ol> <li> <dl> <dt> <dd> <b> <i> <h2>
  • Lines and paragraphs break automatically.
  • Textual smileys will be replaced with graphical ones.
  • Image links with 'rel="lightbox"' in the <a> tag will appear in a Lightbox when clicked on.
